It’s official! Your Hermosa Beach dog photoshoot is on the calendar, and the countdown is on. Why not turn your upcoming photo session into a fun night out with your pup? I love it when clients do this and have several recommendations for them, so I decided to start this series where I share them here. These are places that I would go with my girls! Dog-Friendly Restaurants in Hermosa Beach
Hermosa Beach dog-friendly restaurants within walking distance from my photo session location:
Vista - This restaurant sits right on the strand and has a great view of the sunset; there is a huge outside seating area that allows dogs, AND they have doggy meals. The staff brings water bowls out for dogs as soon as you sit down. This spot is the most dog-friendly place in HB. Their food is very trendy and super tasty, and they also have great drinks. We love this spot and take Arwen here often. It’s also great for people watching as it sits right on the strand where you can watch people go by.
Bonaparte Bistro - This restaurant is new and it’s located in the pier area in Hermosa Beach, right across from its partnering cafe - Cafe Bonaparte that has been around for years. The staff are friendly and love dogs, they even served our dog water before serving us. The food is amazing and the people watching from the outdoor patio is just as good. Our dog was never bored laying there as we ate our dinner since she was able to watch all sorts of different groups of people and dogs walk by along the pier area. The restaurant doesn’t have a dedicated doggy menu, but they were able to make a puppy patty for our dog, which she loved!
Palmilla Cocina & Tequila - LOVE the food here. It’s amazing upscale Mexican food, and I’d personally say it is the best in the area. The margaritas are also great. Dogs are allowed in the patio area. There aren’t any special things for dogs; they’re just allowed. Usually, we are the only ones there with a dog since many people don’t know they’re allowed here, which is kind of nice since you don’t have to worry too much about your dog getting distracted and wanting to go see other dogs.
Crème de la Crepe - I haven’t been here yet! This French Cafe has outdoor tables that are dog-friendly.
Proudly Serving - I need to get here, too. If you are craving a good burger, definitely check this place out. You can grab your dinner and sit outside with your dog.
Dog-Friendly Coffee Shops and Cafes
Most of my dog photoshoots are in the evening during the golden hour, but here are a few dog-friendly coffee shops if your session is in the morning or on the weekend.
Lavender & Honey - This boutique coffee bar and deli is my personal favorite spot to go in the area located on the border of Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach. Dogs are welcome to sit with you inside or on the outside patio. This coffee shop specializes in offering a variety of toast options and they also offer pastries that are equally delicious. My absolute favorite pairing is to get the Lavender & Honey toast with the Lavender Honey latte.
Lucky 7 Coffee - With several breakfast options and great coffee, this is a great spot to take your dog if you’re looking for a coffee shop near the beach. There is a small inside area where you can sit with your dog as you enjoy your order, and then you can walk right across the street to the strand to treat your dog to an ocean view walk.
Gum Tree - This cafe and shop offers creative dishes with an Australian twist and dog-friendly seating close to the beach. There’s a large outdoor seating area that welcomes pets. The food and coffee are great, and there’s a bonus shop inside with all sorts of cute treasures to look through.
