This might just be my favorite restaurant EVER. I make any excuse I can think of to drive down to Huntington Beach just to come to Bear Flag. Their poke is the best poke I have ever had - I have tried many others closer to where I live, hoping to satisfy my Bear Flag cravings with no luck. My favorite combination is getting either the salmon or ahi poke, a Bear Flag fish burrito (make sure to get an extra side of Tommy sauce), and chips and guac. Do I ever finish it all in one sitting? Definitely not. I’m always very happy to take the leftovers home with me to savor for one more meal. Now that I have expressed just how obsessed I am with the food here, I will talk about the location, which is also amazing. This spot is situated right across the street from the beach, and there’s a dog-friendly outdoor patio with a view of the ocean - perfect for grabbing dinner and watching the sunset, which is exactly what I do after every Huntington Beach photo session that I have. Long story short, if you like to eat fish, are in Huntington Beach, and are hungry, you should come here.
This is a long-time favorite spot of mine that has a few locations - Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Long Beach, and now Redondo Beach I am very excited about seeing that I live in Redondo Beach. Everything is customizable with all of your typical Mexican food options. I would like to say I have a favorite thing to order here, but I love it all. I usually get a chicken burrito with pretty much everything on it, which is big enough to share with somebody if you want. The atmosphere is very casual and dogs are even allowed inside.
Located within the Kimpton Shorebreak Resort, Pacific Hideaway offers a laid-back vibe with ocean views and a globally inspired menu. Their outdoor seating area welcomes dogs, so you can sip on craft cocktails or enjoy small plates while your pup lounges by your side. The staff often goes the extra mile, providing water bowls and a warm welcome for furry friends.
Craving tacos and margaritas? Fred’s Mexican Cafe on Main Street is the perfect spot to satisfy your appetite. Their outdoor patio is dog-friendly, making it a great choice for enjoying Huntington Beach’s sunny weather with your pup. From sizzling fajitas to vegetarian-friendly options, Fred’s offers something for everyone.
Simmzy’s is a casual, welcoming eatery that’s perfect for a relaxed outing with your pup. Their patio is dog-friendly and ideal for grabbing a burger or sharing a plate of loaded fries. Known for their craft beers and laid-back atmosphere, Simmzy’s is a great spot to unwind after a walk on the beach or around town.
This iconic California chain is famous for its fusion of Mexican, Brazilian, and Asian flavors. The Huntington Beach location has a dog-friendly patio where you can enjoy their fresh, flavorful fish tacos. It’s a budget-friendly option that doesn’t skimp on taste, making it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike.
This is not a dinner spot, but it should still be mentioned in this list because of how dog-friendly it is. For a truly dog-centered experience, head to Park Bench Cafe, located in Huntington Central Park. This charming breakfast and lunch spot is well-known for its “doggy menu,” which includes treats like scrambled eggs, grilled chicken, and even hot dogs made especially for your fur baby. With its serene park setting, this cafe is a favorite among local dog parents. The best part? You can take your dog for a walk around the park before settling down to eat. After all, dogs are always happier to relax with us after they've had a chance to explore and enjoy a fun park!
